Door stuck open at night? Call now.
A garage door stuck open is an open door to your house. Call, and a person tells you the arrival window and the after-hours fee before anyone gets in the van.
- Arrival: Arrival window given on the phone, usually 1 to 3 hours
- License CGC15***68
Signs this is your problem
- The door is stuck open and won't close.
- The car is trapped inside and you need it in the morning.
- A cable snapped and the door hangs on one side.
- The door came off its track and is leaning.
- A storm is coming and the door won't lock down.
What happens when you call at night
A person answers. We ask what the door is doing and whether anyone could get hurt. You hear the arrival window and the after-hours fee on the phone, before anyone drives.
If the repair can safely wait until morning, we'll say so and help you secure the door for the night. It saves you the fee, and it's the honest answer.
Making the door safe until we get there
If the door is stuck open and the spring is intact, you can usually close it by hand: pull the red emergency cord, keep your fingers away from the panel joints, and lower it slowly. Then slide the manual lock or put a C-clamp on the track above a roller. If the spring is broken, don't try it. The door is too heavy to control.
When it can wait
A noisy door, a slow opener or a remote that quit can wait until morning. We'll tell you when you call, so you don't pay an after-hours fee you didn't need.
Questions about emergency repair
Yes. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and a person picks up, not a machine.
We give you an arrival window on the phone, usually one to three hours, and the after-hours fee before anyone drives.
Almost always. Closing and securing the house comes first.
